Russia attacks Ukraine with Shahed drones, cruise and ballistic missiles

Russian forces attacked Ukraine with missiles and drones overnight on September 22. Air defenses shot down or suppressed 186 aerial targets, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.
What Russia used in the attack
Starting at 6:00 p.m. on September 21, Russian forces used various types of missiles and drones against Ukraine. In particular, the enemy launched Oniks anti-ship missiles, Iskander-M, S-400, and KN-23 ballistic missiles, four Kalibr cruise missiles, as well as eight Banderol/Dan-T missiles.
In addition, Russia launched 212 Shahed attack drones, including jet-powered versions, as well as Parodiya decoy drones.
Air defense operations
The main targets of the Russian attack were the Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad and Poltava regions.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 8:00 a.m., air defenses had shot down or suppressed 186 targets. These included one Kalibr missile, eight Banderol/Dan-T missiles, and 177 Shahed, Gerbera, and other types of drones.
At the same time, Russian missiles and attack drones were recorded hitting 22 locations. Downed targets and their debris were found at four other locations.
Russian forces attacked the Brovary district of the Kyiv region overnight. The strike caused fires at warehouses and utility buildings, while private homes and vehicles were also damaged.
