Russia attacks Ukraine with 63 drones overnight: Air defense's work reported
On the night of October 25, Russian troops launched a massive attack on Ukraine, using 63 Shahed strike drones and other unidentified drones. The attacks were carried out from the directions of Orel, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, according to the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Air Force of Ukraine actively countered the threat: anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces were involved in repelling the Russian attacks.
According to preliminary data as of 10 a.m. Kyiv time, Ukrainian forces shot down 36 Russian drones in various regions of the country, including Odesa, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Lviv, Rivne, and Poltava regions.
Most of the drones were shot down in Odesa and Kyiv regions.
In addition, 16 Russian drones were lost.
Shelling of Kyiv and the region
On the night of October 25, Russian troops attacked Kyiv and the region using kamikaze drones. Air defense systems in the Kyiv region successfully repelled a Russian massive attack by drones approaching the capital.
The drones came at Kyiv in waves, and on the outskirts of the city, air defense shot down about 15 Russian drones.
At the same time, a fire broke out in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv as a result of the Russian drone attack, which was quickly extinguished.
