Russia attacks power substations in central and western Ukraine, power outage in Kharkiv
Russia attacked energy facilities in the Poltava and Lviv regions on the night of April 9. There are power outages in the Kharkiv region today, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy.
During the past day, due to network restrictions, blackout schedules were applied in the Kharkiv region. This morning in the Kharkiv region, blackout schedules are also imposed.
According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy, at night Russia attacked a high-voltage substation in the Poltava region. There was a fire, no one was injured, but the equipment was damaged.
A high-voltage substation in the Lviv region was also attacked, and the equipment caught fire. There are no casualties.
Also, due to technical violations at a high-voltage substation in the Lviv region, the railway (there were no violations of train movement) and industrial facilities were de-energized. At the same time, solar power plant facilities reduced their generation. Within an hour, electricity was restored to all consumers.
Electricity situation in Ukraine
The heating season in Ukraine has ended, and it was possible to pass it without power outages.
However, in March, Russia resumed energy strikes. After the massive attacks, there were power outages in several regions, the worst situation was in Kharkiv and the region. There are still partial blackouts. As is known, the Zmiiv thermal power plants were seriously damaged in the region.
In addition, during the Russian attack on March 22, all blocks of the Burshtyn and Ladyzhyn thermal power plants were damaged.
However, the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy emphasizes that it is not yet a matter of turning off the electricity for the entire country.
