A Russian Lancet kamikaze drone struck a regular bus transporting civilians from Bilopillia, Sumy region. Most of the victims are elderly women, according to the head of the Bilopillia community, Yurii Zarko, Suspilne reports.

The strike occurred outside the city limits, where the bus had taken people for evacuation.

It was carried out by a Lancet kamikaze drone guided by a reconnaissance UAV.

According to Zarko, nine people were killed in the attack, and five more were injured. They were given first aid at the scene and taken to a hospital in Sumy.

The removal of the bodies is currently ongoing. Some of them have not yet been identified. Among the victims are mostly elderly women, as well as two or three men.

Attack on Bilopillia

The National Police confirmed that nine people were killed and four others injured as a result of the strike on the bus in Bilopillia.

Law enforcement emphasizes that Russian forces deliberately targeted the regular bus, which was carrying civilians.

The NPU underlined that this was not a random attack, but a deliberate war crime — a strike on a civilian target, which grossly violates the norms of international humanitarian law.

Investigative and operational teams are working at the site of the tragedy, documenting the consequences of the attack, and collecting debris, photo and video materials. Police say everything is being recorded so that those responsible for this tragedy are identified and brought to justice.

The Sumy Regional Military Administration, together with the National Police, published photos from the site of the strike. The images show the damaged bus and the crater caused by the drone impact.
