Russian forces attacked energy facilities in the Chernihiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions. As a result of the shelling, some consumers in Chernihiv remain without electricity, according to Ukrenergo and the Ministry of Energy.

"The enemy attacked energy infrastructure in the Chernihiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions. As a result of the shelling, consumers in the city of Chernihiv and part of the region remain without electricity. Power restoration will begin as soon as the security situation allows," the energy company said.

It is reported that due to the consequences of previous Russian attacks, today in all regions of Ukraine, from 16:00 to 20:00, power limitation schedules for industrial consumers will be in effect.

How electricity consumption has changed

Electricity consumption remains high. Today, on October 21, as of 9:30 a.m. local time, it was 1.4% lower than at the same time the previous day. The reason for this change is sunny weather in the western and parts of the southern regions of Ukraine.

This leads to high efficiency of household solar power plants and a corresponding decrease in energy consumption from the general grid.

Yesterday, on October 20, the daily peak consumption was recorded in the evening. It was 4.5% higher than the maximum of the previous working day. The reason for the increase is the traditional rise in energy consumption at the beginning of the workweek, as well as the cooling across the entire territory of Ukraine.

It should be recalled that last night, the Russian Federation launched a massive combined strike on the northern region of Ukraine. In particular, hits on energy facilities were recorded.

According to the Regional Military Administration, the enemy attacked the region with 51 aerial targets over the past day. Two ballistic missiles and 49 Shahed-type drones were recorded.

According to Ukrenergo, all users in the Chernihiv region are expected to have power restored by the end of the day. Repair crews are actively working to restore the electricity supply.
