In the evening of November 30, Russians attacked the Dnipro city district. There were reports of an explosion heard in the regional center and fires, according to the Telegram channel of the head of the Dnipro Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, and the Dnipro Operative.

According to Lysak, three fires broke out in Dniprovskyi district as a result of the enemy attack.

“A shop, an apartment building, and a private house caught fire. Rescuers are extinguishing the fire. There are preliminary reports of casualties,” noted Lysak.

Mykola Lukashuk, head of the regional council, said that an explosion occurred in the evening in Dniprovskyi district. “The consequences are being clarified,” he added.

According to the Dnipro Operative, the air raid alert was announced in the region at 17:21. A missile threat was warned, and about 20 minutes later an explosion occurred in Dnipro.

The death toll has reached 4. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, civilian buildings were damaged - a residential building and a shop in the village of Tsarychanka.

Last week, Russia fired an intercontinental ballistic missile at the Dnipro River, injuring two people.

According to Russian leader Vladimir Putin, the target was the Yuzhmash plant, and the strike was carried out by an Oreshnik medium-range missile. Many experts believe that it was a simulated nuclear strike to intimidate Ukraine's Western partners and prevent arms shipments.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, “Oreshnik” is a project name; the system itself is called “Kedr.” These ballistic missiles are capable of flying at speeds of over 11 Ma. Presumably, to shoot them down, systems such as the American THAAD or modernized Patriot are needed.
