On the night of August 8, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with drones and missiles. Air defense failed to shoot down only two Iskander missiles, according to the Air Force commander Mykola Oleshchuk.

“On the night of August 8, the enemy fired two Iskander-M ballistic missiles at the Kharkiv region from Belgorod, two Kh-59 guided missiles from the airspace over the Azov Sea, and four Shahed attack UAVs from the direction of Yeysk,” he said.

As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, mobile firing groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, anti-aircraft missile troops, and airborne electronic warfare units of the Air Force shot down two Kh-59 guided missiles and four attack UAVs in the Odesa, Kherson, and Kirovohrad regions.
