Russia acts more cautiously after Su-30 fighter jet loss over Black Sea - Ukrainian Navy

Russia has changed its plan after losing two Su-30 fighter jets over the Black Sea. The Ukrainian Navy announced that the enemy has taken a tactical pause, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing the Spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk.
According to the Ukrainian Spokesperson, such losses forced the Russian command to take a tactical pause.
"When something like this happens, they usually take a tactical pause and start thinking about what to do next. But, as a rule, knowing the Russians, they tend to do this after the second case," Pletenchuk noted.
Ukrainian military emphasized that now the widespread use of drones is coming to the forefront. Russia is actively utilizing drones to attack the mainland of Ukraine almost continuously, despite their high cost and constant losses.
The Russians have lost their dominance at sea, and now their control over the airspace is under threat. This creates a new reality in which Ukraine is gaining more space for action.
"If this trend continues, if this case develops, it will be another serious challenge for the Russians," Pletenchuk concluded.
Downing of Su-30
On May 2, Ukrainian forces shot down two Russian Su-30 fighter jets over the Black Sea.
Ukrainian intelligence forces shot down two multi-role Su-30 Flanker fighter jets using AIM-9 Sidewinder air-to-air missiles with infrared guidance.
This was the first instance of fighter jets being shot down by unmanned boats, and the first use of the AIM-9 missile from an unmanned boat to destroy the enemy.
