Two people were killed and two others injured in the strike on the five-story apartment building. An unknown number of people may still be trapped under the rubble as rescuers continue to deal with the aftermath of the attack.
Later, the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported that the death toll from the strike on the five-story apartment building has risen to four. Three more people sustained minor injuries, one of whom was hospitalized. Another person may still be trapped under the rubble as rescuers continue search operations.
Just the day before, on the morning of October 9, Russian forces attacked the city, killing one person and injuring several others. Semikin initially reported a strike on a residential building but later clarified that the attack had hit an area next to a high-rise apartment building.
Recently, Russian forces have changed their tactics. On October 8, the city came under air bomb attacks for the third consecutive day, while Russian forces have been deliberately targeting bridges. On October 6, five people were injured in a strike on a bridge across the Dnipro River. On October 7, a transport infrastructure facility was targeted, prompting traffic restrictions on certain road sections.
