Rubio assures US will not abandon Ukraine - Italy's FM

Italy's Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani held talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, focusing on support for Ukraine, Politico reports.
During the talks, Rubio insisted that the US "won't give up on Ukraine."
Tajani also emphasized that the US "must be present in Africa, in the Mediterranean."
In response to recent comments by US President Donald Trump regarding Greenland, Tajani said, "I don't think Trump will invade Greenland."
Tajani noted that the main conclusion from the new era of Trump's presidency is that Europe must do more to defend itself.
"Europe must not be strong only in imposing rules, it must be strong politically and economically," he added.
US assistance to Ukraine
Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi emphasized that the US military assistance to Ukraine is still ongoing.
At the same time, he noted that assistance to Ukraine is strategically important for the United States. Ukrainian officials are trying to convey this message to the American side.
