'Root causes' of the war are Putin himself, EU commissioner says

Russian leader Vladimir Putin is the only real reason for the war against Ukraine. To achieve peace, his decisions must be reversed, according to European Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius.
EU diplomat's statement
The EU commissioner responded to Putin's latest statements about the need to eliminate the "root causes" of the conflict following his talks with US representatives.
Commissioner Kubilius says the key sources of aggression lie in actions made by the Russian president himself.
"The 'root causes' of the war are Putin himself, his decisions to occupy Crimea in 2014 & full scale invasion in 2022. This is the first time when I agree with Putin: the real 'root causes' of the war should be removed!" the politician emphasized.
Russia unfixes security in Europe
As previously reported, Russia is preparing a new wave of targeted acts of sabotage and assassination attempts in NATO countries.
Security experts say the Kremlin is recruiting operatives through social media to escalate its "shadow war" against the West.
In addition, officials in the European Union say that Russian President Vladimir Putin has brought the war to Russian territory himself. As a result of Moscow's continued escalation, Russia is now facing a response in kind.
