Romania stops blocking Porubne-Siret checkpoint on border with Ukraine
The blocking of truck traffic through the Porubne-Siret checkpoint in Romania has been lifted, reports the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
Romanian farmers have stopped blocking truck traffic through the Porubne-Siret checkpoint.
Trucks, cars, passenger buses, and pedestrians are allowed to cross following the established procedure.
As a reminder, this afternoon Romanian farmers blocked the movement of trucks through the Siret checkpoint.
Blocking the border with Ukraine
Last year, Polish farmers and carriers blocked two checkpoints on the border with Ukraine.
They did not allow trucks to cross the border into Ukraine, putting forward demands to both the Polish and Ukrainian governments.
However, in January, the Polish government managed to reach an agreement with the farmers and unblock one of the checkpoints. However, Polish carriers continued to block the crossing.
At the same time, Hungarian and Slovak protesters made several attempts to block the border last year.
