Romania's new President to visit Ukraine for the first time

Romania's new President, Nicușor Dan, who took office in late May, will visit Ukraine for the first time on June 11. He will take part in the summit in Odesa, the Office of the President of Romania reports.
Today, Nicușor Dan will arrive in Odesa to participate in the fourth Ukraine-Southeast Europe Summit. The summit will be chaired by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Ukraine - Southeast Europe format was launched in 2023 as a regional platform to support Ukraine and to jointly combat the complex consequences of Russia's war against Ukraine.
The Romanian President's administration noted that Dan will reaffirm Romania's commitment to continue supporting Ukraine at all levels, as well as to join efforts for peace and reconstruction of Ukraine after the war.
"During his trip to Odesa, President Nicușor Dan will also take part in a trilateral meeting Romania-Moldova-Ukraine, during which he will discuss with his counterparts the most important interconnection projects, including energy infrastructure, the EU accession process, and security cooperation," the statement says.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić will also arrive in Odesa today and take part in the Ukraine-Southeast Europe summit. This will be his first visit to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war.
Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Moldovan President Maia Sandu are also expected to arrive in Odesa.
