Roads in Ukraine’s frontline areas to be shielded with anti-drone nets

The main roads in eastern Ukraine will be covered with anti-drone nets, and frontline communities are promised additional support, according to Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, who announced it following her trip to the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has begun work on covering key transport arteries in frontline areas with anti-drone nets.
Svyrydenko stated that the government is currently focusing on key tasks to support frontline territories:
-
Protecting main road arteries with anti-drone nets;
-
Improving accommodation conditions and services for internally displaced persons;
-
Supporting businesses.
Svyrydenko also thanked the Defense Forces, who are holding back Russian troops and thereby ensuring the lives of local communities.
In the Sumy region, particularly in border communities, roads will be covered with anti-drone nets to complicate enemy aerial reconnaissance and protect logistics.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, special anti-drone tunnels have started to be built to protect against Russian drones. The first tunnel was constructed on one of the most dangerous logistical routes — the Orikhiv highway.
It is noted that the tunnels are being built with funds from the Joint Defense Fund, which purchases everything needed for the work — metal structures, nets, consumables, and more. Military personnel, including soldiers from one of Zaporizhzhia’s brigades, were involved in the construction.
