Situation in the Belgorod region

On March 12, fighters from the Russian Volunteer Corps, together with two other units, breached the border between Ukraine and Russia and took control of several settlements in the Belgorod and Kursk regions. Shortly afterward, the Siberian Battalion seized control of the town of Gorkovsky in the Belgorod region. Volunteers announced new strikes on military targets in the Russian Federation.

On March 23, the mayor of Belgorod, Vadim Demidov, reported emergency power outages on two streets in the city following an alleged attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Particularly, another shelling of the region occurred on March 26. On that occasion, Russians again complained about infrastructure damage and casualties.
