Reports of operational encirclement near Uspenivka: Military response
The media have been reporting on an alleged operational encirclement of Ukrainian troops near Uspenivka, Donetsk region. The military denies this information, according to a spokesman for the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Grouping.
“At present, the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine involved in defensive operations in the relevant section of the frontline are selflessly repelling Russian assaults on the outskirts of the settlements of Uspenivka, Hannivka, Trudove, Romanivka, taking the necessary measures to counteract their capture or encirclement by the enemy,” the military said.
As noted, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are intensifying the actions necessary to defend this and other areas of the front.
The Khortytsia military unit reminds that verified and balanced information about the fighting and the operational situation in each direction of the front is provided regularly through official information channels of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military commissars, etc.
“Any emotional interpretation of such information and the dissemination of messages that may somehow encourage the enemy to complicate the situation in a particular area of the front are actions in favor of the enemy,” the Armed Forces warn.
What preceded
DeepState analysts wrote about the so-called Uspenivka sack on December 12. As noted, there are several key places in the sack - Yelyzavetivka - Romanivka - Veselyi Hai - Hannivka, “which are directly in it and where the enemy is trying to break through without ceasing, literally, from all sides.”
“As well as Trudove - Uspenivka - Dalne, which play a major role in holding this sack. It is from Dalne and Trudove that the occupiers climb to Uspenivka, where the sack is closed,” the DeepState report noted.
