Iran has not threatened to launch missile strikes on Kyiv, Lviv, and Odesa in the event of a US attack. Messages circulating online, along with footage allegedly taken from an Iranian TV broadcast, are completely fabricated, according to the Center for Countering Disinformation.
Telegram channels have been widely spreading claims that Iran is preparing to launch missile strikes on Ukrainian cities.
As supposed proof, propagandists are using a screenshot allegedly taken from an Iranian TV broadcast.
It shows a map of Europe with the Ukrainian cities of Kyiv, Lviv, and Odesa marked on it.

In fact, the Iranian television broadcast did not mention any possible strikes on Ukraine.
The original broadcast showed an entirely different image, while the screenshot circulating online has been falsified.
The Center for Countering Disinformation emphasizes that such disinformation campaigns are aimed solely at spreading panic among Ukrainians and creating the illusion of a threat.
Russia recently resorted to another series of manipulations and disinformation campaigns aimed at discrediting Ukraine and shifting responsibility for its crimes.
