Qatar threatens Iran with response to missile strike on US base

Qatar has the right to respond to Iran’s strikes on its territory. Such aggression from Tehran is brazen, according to Majed Al Ansari, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, on Twitter (X).
He emphasized that Qatar strongly condemns Iran’s strike on the American military base Al-Udeid. It was a "flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar, its airspace, international law, and the United Nations Charter."
"We affirm that Qatar reserves the right to respond directly in a manner equivalent with the nature and scale of this brazen aggression, in line with international law," the Foreign Ministry spokesperson stressed.
According to him, Qatar’s air defense systems successfully repelled the attack and intercepted Iranian missiles.
Majed Al Ansari added that Doha calls for an immediate cessation of all military actions and a serious return to the negotiating table and dialogue.
"The base had been evacuated earlier, following established security and precautionary measures, given the tensions in the region. All necessary steps were taken to ensure the safety of personnel at the base, including Qatari Armed Forces members, friendly forces, and others. We confirm that no injuries or human casualties resulted from the attack," the Foreign Ministry spokesperson said.
