Negotiations between Trump and Putin raise many questions. However, the Kremlin still has no intention of ending the war, says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in a conversation with journalists on June 13.

"I believe there was a very warm conversation between these teams (Trump's and Putin's -ed.). I don’t think I can tell President Trump how to conduct dialogue. He is the president chosen by the US. He can do what he wants. But my position has always been that these are their bilateral relations. Still, I believe Putin does not want to end the war. Ultimately, he will deceive Trump. You will see it. The whole world will see it," Zelenskyy emphasized.

He explained that the Russian president is willing to take any steps toward de-escalation only under intense pressure.

"There is no other way. That’s why I don’t know what they talk about among themselves. However, as president, I am particularly interested in the issue of Ukraine. I believe talking about Ukraine without Ukraine is wrong. To discuss Ukraine and decide some issues without us, I believe, is unfair," the Ukrainian president concluded.

Does Trump know Putin is "tapping him along"?

As a reminder, Trump hoped for a quick end to the war in Ukraine. However, he now realizes that a single conversation will not end the conflict. Media reports say Trump grows increasingly frustrated each day by Moscow's lack of progress toward peace in Ukraine.

Earlier this spring, we reported that Trump was finally convinced that Putin was "tapping him alone."

Moreover, after several intense attacks on Ukraine, the US president even said that Putin "had gone absolutely crazy."

"Something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely CRAZY!" Trump said.

French President Emmanuel Macron also noted that, in his opinion, Trump understood that Russian President Vladimir Putin was deceiving him.

Notably, at the end of May, Trump set a deadline for Putin. At that time, the US president said he would know in two weeks whether Putin was trying to deceive him regarding ending the war.

However, two weeks have passed, and there is still no reaction.
