Russian President Vladimir Putin deliberately launched a massive strike on Ukraine's energy infrastructure on the third anniversary of the first such attacks. It was a "blunt signal" to the entire world from the Kremlin, said Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi during a briefing.

Tykhyi noted that Ukraine is now working to activate all mechanisms within international organizations and integration alliances to ensure an appropriate response to Russian terror.

"The minister (Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha - ed.) emphasized this morning that, in our view, Putin deliberately carried out this strike on October 10 — the third anniversary of the first massive attack on Ukraine's energy sector. It’s a simple, blunt signal from Russia to the world that the policy of aggression and terror continues, and that Russia, over these three years, has not changed its course of aggression, terror, and ultimatums," the spokesperson said.

He also pointed out that Moscow continues to reject any diplomacy or peace efforts.

"It can be said that the Russians are worse than Hamas... Because even Hamas, as we see, is moving toward a ceasefire and taking steps toward peace... Meanwhile, in Europe, we see Moscow deepening terror and continuing an absolutely senseless war that it started, cannot win, and will never be able to win," Tykhyi added.

Strike on the night of October 10

On the night of October 10, Russian forces carried out a massive strike on Ukraine's energy infrastructure using missiles, including ballistic ones, and attack drones.

Notably, the first large-scale strike on Ukraine's energy facilities occurred exactly three years ago, on October 10, 2022.

Full details on the aftermath of the attack are available in the material by RBC-Ukraine.
