Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a blow to all peace efforts with his massive attack on Kyiv, stated Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

"Russia’s terror against Kyiv yesterday was Putin’s slap to all peace efforts, a slap to the American side. He is merely imitating a diplomatic process to avoid sanctions," Sybiha said.

Strike on Kyiv

On the night of July 31, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Kyiv.

The enemy used Shahed attack drones and Iskander-K cruise missiles. One of the missiles hit a residential building in the Sviatoshynskyi district.

It is already known that 31 people were killed as a result of the Russian attack, 28 of whom died due to the strike on the high-rise building.

Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko explained that the high death toll was due to the collapse of the building’s floors after the missile strike. People were crushed under concrete slabs.

The day after the attack, on August 1, Russian leader Vladimir Putin claimed he wanted to end the war, but only on his own terms.

In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed a meeting with the Kremlin leader at the level of heads of state.
