Putin’s aide says Trump meeting idea is still 'in the air'

US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin still might meet in person, stated Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, according to RIA-Novosti.
Ushakov said that during the phone call between Putin and Trump, no specific discussion about a meeting took place.
"But as you know, the idea seems to be in the air, and if necessary, a concrete agreement will be reached. However, this topic was not raised this time," he added.
Why a personal meeting matters
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that in Russia, decisions are made only by Vladimir Putin.
According to Zelenskyy, peace agreements between Ukraine and Russia are only possible through a personal meeting.
Ukrainian President had previously proposed a meeting with Putin in Istanbul, where US President Donald Trump might also have participated. However, the Kremlin leader did not attend and instead sent his aide, Vladimir Medinsky.
On June 19, Putin claimed he was ready to meet Zelenskyy, but the question is who will sign the documents.
