Russian president Vladimir Putin does not rule out that he may meet with US President Donald Trump in the United Arab Emirates, reports TASS.

Following his meeting with UAE leader Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Kremlin chief said that Russia has "many friends" who could help organize his meeting with Trump.

"One of the friends is the president of the United Arab Emirates. I think we will decide, but it would be one of the appropriate, quite good places," he added.

Rumors of a meeting between Trump and Putin

Yesterday, August 6, The New York Times, citing its own sources, wrote that US President Donald Trump wants to meet with Vladimir Putin next week.

Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov assured that a meeting between the leaders of Russia and the United States could take place in the coming days.

According to him, the venue has already been agreed upon. But he did not disclose any details.

Rumors surrounding Trump's meeting with Putin arose after US special envoy Steve Witkoff visited Moscow and met with the Kremlin head. The talks focused on ending Russia's war against Ukraine.

Trump said that significant progress had been made during the meeting.
