Russian leader Vladimir Putin tells foreign leaders about the victories of Russian troops at the front. In reality, the situation is very different, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening address.

The head of state noted that Russia attempted to stage a major breakthrough near Dobropillia, but Ukrainian defenders stopped the offensive and launched a counterattack.

"Putin lies to leaders who still talk to him, claiming that the occupation forces are achieving some goals. In fact, for years they’ve been forced to come up with new reasons why the deadlines set for them are constantly being postponed," Zelenskyy stressed.

He added that despite peace appeals to Moscow from other countries, Russia continues to respond with new assault attempts and strikes on Ukrainian cities.

"They are truly sick with war, and whether they can be cured is the question. The only thing that can stop this Russian virus of war is force, strong decisions, and strong support," Zelenskyy added.

Fake claims of Russian success

Earlier today, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, after meeting Putin, claimed Russian forces had almost captured large settlements in some areas of the front.

Just days ago, Russia declared control over the village of Kalynivske in the Donetsk region.

However, Oleksii Belskyi, the spokesperson of the Dnipro operational-strategic group, told RBC-Ukraine that in reality Russian troops only entered the outskirts and raised a flag, after which Russia’s Defense Ministry falsely announced the village was captured.
