Putin had no plans to meet with CIA chief John Ratcliffe, Kremlin aide says

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin did not plan to meet with CIA director John Ratcliffe during his visit to Moscow, says Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, according to Life.
Ushakov denied reports in Western media that Putin allegedly did not want to meet with the CIA director.
Western media claimed that the head of US intelligence had traveled to Moscow for talks with the Russian dictator, but that Putin allegedly refused to meet with him.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov had previously also called such reports information leaks.
Ushakov made a similar statement this time.
“As far as I know, there were no such plans. The CIA director met with the leadership of the Russian intelligence community,” Putin’s aide said.
He said the consultations were strictly confidential.
“I have no right to talk about them,” Ushakov added.
CIA director’s visit to Moscow
On August 25, US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director John Ratcliffe arrived in Russia on an unannounced visit.
He is considered the main supporter of Ukraine in President Donald Trump’s administration.
In Moscow, Ratcliffe held meetings with representatives of the Russian intelligence services.
Recently, Russian intelligence chief Sergey Naryshkin revealed the first details of his meeting with the CIA director.
According to the latter, the focus was on issues within the intelligence services’ remit.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov made an official statement on the matter.
Later, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov confirmed to the media that the war in Ukraine was one of the topics discussed during Ratcliffe’s visit to Moscow.
