Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russian President Vladimir Putin fears the return of his army home and the end of the war, the head of state said.
"Putin fears the return of his army home. That is why he is so afraid of the war ending without victory. There will be no victory. He is physically afraid of his army, and therefore, if there is no end to the war with specific security guarantees, he will return to war. And this time, others could come under attack," the president said.
Zelenskyy added that Putin will remain in the Kremlin until his death and has only one goal — the restoration of the Soviet Union. However, this is impossible without Ukraine.
The president also summed up his meetings in Europe and noted that all partners are confident that, together with Ukraine, they can stop Putin.
"The main conclusion of all partners: Ukraine is strong, everyone recognizes that, absolutely. Putin does not want to stop, and all his talk about wanting peace is a lie. All partners, all Europeans feel this, but everyone is confident that together we will stop him. The key word is together — and we will stop him," the head of state concluded.
Putin is at a dead end
Yesterday, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has reached a dead end in the war against Ukraine, and that the war is causing increasing damage to the aggressor state.
After Ukrainian forces attacked the Moscow oil refinery, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russians should put pressure on Putin if they want the consequences of the war to continue.
He also said that more than half of Russians want the war to end. In particular, they can see that Russia is not winning on the battlefield.
