Putin demands bases and arsenals for weapons: No more open field deployments

Russian leader Vladimir Putin has demanded that Russia begin preparing infrastructure in advance for "new weapons systems", including aircraft, according to the Russian state agency TASS.
"It’s important to calculate the needs in advance and begin preparing infrastructure for deploying new weapons systems, including bases, arsenals, airfields, and more," Putin said.
He stressed that funds for the construction and modernization of Russian bases, arsenals, and airfields must be separately allocated under the relevant state program.
"I know, I sign these documents all the time. Of course, the officials who bring them aren't doing it by choice - they ask to shift funding to other, seemingly more important items. But what does that lead to? A new weapon system appears, and then it is just standing in an open field. Then it requires faster modernization and additional expenses," Putin added.
Operation Spiderweb
On June 1, the Security Service of Ukraine attacked Russian strategic aviation with drones. The drones were hidden in modular houses, transported by trucks.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian drones hit 41 Russian aircraft. Russian bombers suffered the most from the attack.
Today, June 11, the SBU showed a video of how Operation Spiderweb began.
