The motorcade of Russian President Vladimir Putin during his trip to Kazakhstan was accompanied by an armored vehicle with a gunner position, a helicopter, and likely a vehicle equipped with electronic warfare systems, according to Russian media.

During the visit to Astana, the Kremlin leader’s motorcade looked more like a movement through a combat zone.

According to a Telegram channel, Putin’s convoy heading to the negotiation venue consisted of around 20 vehicles and 14 motorcycles. A military armored vehicle was driving behind the Russian ruler’s convoy.

According to one OSINT analyst, the vehicle was likely an Alan armored vehicle equipped with a position for a roof-mounted machine gun.

A representative of the Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT) research group said the vehicle could also be a standard armored vehicle with a partially open turret but without a mounted machine gun.

A vehicle with a structure on its roof was also spotted in the convoy, which may have been equipped with electronic warfare systems or communications equipment.

During Putin’s movement through Astana, security was additionally reinforced by a helicopter monitoring the route from the air.

Footage released online also shows that some streets were blocked off with armored vehicles during the Russian president’s passage, while military personnel in camouflage and carrying weapons were stationed along the route.

Kazakhstan’s State Security Service had earlier announced temporary traffic restrictions in Astana due to Putin’s visit and international events involving special services and military units.
