PSG star crowned 2025 Ballon d'Or winner – Who else took home prizes?

PSG and France winger Ousmane Dembélé has won the 2025 Ballon d'Or as the best football player of the 2024/25 season.
Dembélé is the best player of the year
Last season, Dembélé won his debut Champions League trophy with PSG and was named the best player of the main European tournament. With the French national team, the winger took bronze in the Nations League.
Journalists gave the edge to Dembélé over Barcelona and Spain winger Lamine Yamal, who finished second in the voting but received the Kopa Trophy as the best young player in the world.
Strong PSG presence in the top 10
Five players from PSG, the reigning Champions League winners, made the top 10 in the Ballon d'Or voting: Dembélé, midfielder Vitinha, defenders Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes, and goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who joined Manchester City in the offseason.
The Frenchman became the first Ballon d'Or winner since 2022. Before him, the only PSG player to win the award was Lionel Messi (2021).
In total, French players have now won the Ballon d'Or eight times, equaling Argentina's record.
Aitana Bonmatí wins third straight Ballon d'Or
Among women, Barcelona's Aitana Bonmatí took home the award. This marks her third consecutive Ballon d'Or.
Other contenders included Hannah Hampton, Lucy Bronze, Ewa Pajor, Patricia Guijarro, Alessia Russo, Chloe Kelly, Alexia Putellas, and Mariona Caldentey.
Best clubs of the year
The award for best men's club went to PSG, who completed a treble by winning the Champions League, Ligue 1, and the French Cup.
Among women, Arsenal is named the best club after their victory in the Women's Champions League.
Kopa Trophy
Barcelona and Spain winger Lamine Yamal won the Kopa Trophy for the second year in a row as the best young footballer in the world.
Last season, he led La Liga in assists (14), scored 18 goals, and provided 25 assists in 58 matches for club and country.
Among women, Barcelona's Vicky López won the award.
Best coach of the year
PSG head coach Luis Enrique received the Johan Cruyff Trophy as the best coach of the season.
He led the team to victories in the Champions League, Ligue 1, French Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.
Best goalkeeper of the year
The Lev Yashin Trophy went to Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who won the Champions League with PSG last season and now plays for Manchester City.
Among women, the award went to England goalkeeper Hannah Hampton.
Ceremony mishap
During the event, organizers accidentally published last year's Yashin Trophy nominee list on social media, which included Ukrainian goalkeeper Andrii Lunin.
The official materials later showed the correct updated information.
