A private plane crashed near Pacific Grove, California, with three people on board - all of whom did not survive, according to KSBW.

The aircraft, a Beech 95-B55 Baron, went down into the ocean at around 10:40 p.m. on Saturday, July 27. Flight N8796R had departed from San Carlos Airport and was headed for Monterey Regional Airport.

Following the crash, a search and rescue operation was launched, involving a US Coast Guard helicopter.

On Sunday, emergency services confirmed that all three people on board the aircraft had died. The US Coast Guard reported that the first victim was found in the morning, while the other two bodies were recovered later in the day.

The identities of those on board have not been released. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Wreckage from the aircraft was found scattered along the rocks and shoreline and will be recovered to help determine the cause of the accident.

Local authorities estimate that the plane went down approximately 200 to 300 meters off the coast.

Recent aircraft incidents in the US

On Saturday, July 27, two additional aviation incidents occurred in the US. At Denver International Airport, a passenger Boeing 737 Max caught fire during takeoff. The plane was en route to Miami.

There were 179 people on board at the time. The fire caused panic among passengers, but fortunately, everyone was safely evacuated.

Another incident took place near Los Angeles, where a passenger plane narrowly avoided a collision with a Hawker Hunter fighter jet.
