President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the draft law №8185 on amending certain legislative acts of Ukraine regarding the use of unmanned aerial vehicles by law enforcement agencies and countering their illegal use, as reported by the People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

This draft law includes the following:

  • Prohibition of any unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) flights over the border strip, except in cases determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, border crossing points, checkpoints of entry-exit, and the State Border Guard Service facilities.
  • Granting the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), National Guard troops, and police officers the authority to prevent, detect, and terminate violations of the rules and regulations for the use of Ukrainian airspace by UAV operators, including by forcibly removing the flight of the UAV.

On November 4, 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a draft law regulating the use of unmanned aerial vehicles by law enforcement and civilians.
