US President Donald Trump said the end of the war with Iran depends on his decision. According to him, the conflict could end at any moment when he wants it to, N12 reports.
According to Trump, there is "practically nothing left to target" in Iran.
"Little this and that... Any time I want it to end, it will end," he said.
The outlet notes that senior Israeli and American officials, despite Trump’s strong statements, say that no instructions have been given during internal discussions regarding a possible date for the end of the war.
Conflict in the Middle East
Since February 28, the United States, together with Israel, has been conducting a military operation against Iran called Epic Fury. During the first two days of the war, the US spent $5.6 billion on munitions - much more than initially planned.
In response, the Iranian regime has been striking countries across the Middle East. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Jordan, Azerbaijan, and even Türkiye have come under attack.
Amid the conflict, Iran has also blocked the passage of ships, including oil tankers, through the Strait of Hormuz. This has led to rising oil prices and, consequently, higher logistics costs due to more expensive fuel.
In addition, Iran may have mined the Strait of Hormuz. Responding to these reports, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said the United States carried out ruthless strikes on Iranian vessels in the strait.
According to Western intelligence, Russia is helping Iran with drone tactics tested during the war in Ukraine to strike targets in the United States and the Persian Gulf countries.
In a recent interview with The New York Times, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine had sent interceptor drones and a team of experts to help protect US military bases in Jordan.
