On the evening of March 20, Odesa and its district were subjected to a massive airstrike by Russians. As a result of drone strikes, three people were injured, civil infrastructure was damaged, and fires broke out, according to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.

According to the official, due to the massive Russian drone attack on the city and district, "there has been damage to civil infrastructure, including a residential high-rise, a shopping mall, and stores."

"Three people were injured, including a minor girl," the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration said.

He added that as a result of the Russian drone attack, "powerful fires broke out at three locations."

"There are also local emergency power outages in the Primorsky, Peresyp, and Kyiv districts of Odesa," the official reported.

Kiper added that the air alert continues, and "there is a likelihood of further enemy strikes."

March 20 drone attack in Odesa

On Thursday evening, Russian forces attacked Odesa with Shahed-type kamikaze drones. Several explosions were heard in the city, and it was reported that the enemy used a large number of UAVs for the strike.

Later, information emerged about power outages in Odesa. Additionally, fires broke out in the city.

Andriy Kovalенко, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council, noted that Russians have changed their tactics for drone strikes on Ukrainian cities. Specifically, the enemy is attempting to act "with a large number [of drones] to try to overload air defense systems, mobile groups, and electronic warfare."

Andrii Yermak, head of the Ukrainian President's Office, commented on the attack on Odesa, stating that the Russians are targeting civilian objects in the city with drones.

As reported by the Ukrainian Air Force on the evening of March 20, Russians launched kamikaze drones toward Ukraine for another attack. Due to the threat of drone strikes, air alerts were declared in several regions.

It is known that air defense systems were in operation in various regions, including Kyiv.
