Powerful explosions sound in several districts in occupied Crimea: Ammunition depot burns

Explosions were heard in several districts of occupied Crimea on the morning of May 16. Allegedly, the Russian air defense system was active due to a drone attack. Meanwhile, the news emerged about a fire at an ammunition depot, the monitoring channel Crimean Wind reports.
This morning, Crimean social media pages were reporting powerful explosions that were heard in the areas of Yalta, Alupka, and Sevastopol, and later also in Perevalne.
Social media users write that a Russian Pantsir-S1 air defense system allegedly fired at drones in Sevastopol, from the area of the Fiolent Highway.
Reports also indicate that three powerful explosions occurred near the coast of Alupka, and "two dark smoky clouds were visible in the sky."
Footage was published online from Sevastopol, where a missile trail was allegedly visible in the sky after a shot fired by the Russian air defense from the territory of the local Naval School named after Nakhimov.
Meanwhile, the Gauleiter of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev, stated on his Telegram channel that the explosions heard in the city were the result of air defense activity.
"According to preliminary information, six UAVs were destroyed in the air over the sea at a considerable distance from the shore," said the representative of the Russian administration.
Residents of Crimea also shared online that a series of explosions took place in the Perevalne area. The 126th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet is stationed there, notes Crimean Wind. Smoke was recorded in that location.
Later, Telegram channels reported a fire in Perevalne, where an ammunition depot of the same Russian brigade was allegedly on fire.
In addition, explosions were recorded in Sevastopol, in the areas of the Belbek and Kacha airfields. There were also reports online of explosions in the Bakhchysarai area.
"In connection with the fire at the ammunition depot in Perevalne, the Simferopol-Alushta road is closed. Drivers are asked to take a detour," informs Crimean Wind, publishing a corresponding photo.
Earlier this month, a large-scale air attack on Crimea was reported, when the peninsula was heavily attacked by drones.
Furthermore, the Ukrainian Armed Forces recently destroyed a radar station of the S-400 Triumf anti-aircraft missile system near the city of Saky in the Russian-occupied Crimea.
