Power lines damaged near Kherson: Several villages left without electricity
Russian forces damaged power lines near Kherson on the morning of January 15, leaving several villages without electricity, Deputy Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Roman Mrochko, reports.
The Deputy Head noted that power lines were damaged during overnight enemy shelling. As of 9:30 a.m. Kyiv time, part of the Kherson community was without electricity.
The villages near Kherson - Zelenivka, Naddniprianske, Molodizhne, and Inzhenerne - were completely without power.
"Specialists are assessing the extent of the damage and will begin emergency recovery work as soon as the security situation allows. We will provide additional updates on restoring power to the settlements," Mrochko added.
In the morning, emergency power outages were introduced in several regions of Ukraine due to a Russian missile attack. As of 9:40 a.m., emergency restrictions were lifted in most regions.
Shelling of Kherson
In recent weeks, the Russian army has intensified shelling of Kherson and the surrounding area, as well as assaults along the southern front lines. Local authorities previously reported an increase in the activity of sabotage groups.
Due to the escalation of attacks in the villages near Kherson, bus routes have been suspended.
Earlier, on January 12, Russian forces damaged power lines in the Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. A part of the city was left without electricity and heating due to the shelling.
