Republican Senator Lindsey Graham likely died from an aortic dissection caused by atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
According to forensic experts, a ruptured aorta associated with cardiovascular disease is being considered the primary cause of the senator's death.
At the same time, a conclusion will be made after toxicological and microscopic examinations are completed.
Trump recalls their last conversation
US President Donald Trump reacted to the politician's death, saying that he regarded him as "a member of the family" and was deeply grieving the loss.
According to the White House chief, he last spoke with Graham on Saturday evening after his return from Ukraine. Trump noted that during the conversation, the senator "sounded a little bit tired, but perfect."
