Porridge for weight loss with unusual ingredient: Very easy to cook

Oatmeal is one of the most popular breakfasts among those who watch their figure. But even such a healthy dish can become even more effective for weight loss if you know what to add to it, says family doctor Jen Chyi Ooi on her Instagram.
How to prepare the porridge
The doctor revealed her favorite breakfast recipe, which is not only healthy but also contains an ingredient that can help with weight loss.
First, she prepared oatmeal, which, according to her, is rich in vitamins such as calcium, iron, and vitamin D.
However, the doctor believes that the texture of this porridge is "too smooth" for her taste, so she adds a handful of regular oat flakes. Then she adds another component that may seem somewhat inappropriate to combine with porridge.
It is an egg, which can increase protein intake and promote weight loss.
If you do this just as the porridge is thickening up and keep stirring, you end up with this delicious creamy texture, she added.
The idea of adding an egg to porridge may seem unappealing, but the doctor assures that you won’t taste it in the porridge. Adding this ingredient can provide a beneficial effect to the dish.
Why it is useful to eat eggs in the morning
Whole eggs are a source of nutrients that contain almost all the essential nutrients. They have one of the lowest ratios of energy value to nutrients among all foods and supply the body with some hard-to-get nutrients such as vitamins D and B12, as well as the mineral iodine.
Eggs also contain all nine essential amino acids necessary for growth, development, and recovery. This is important because the body cannot produce these amino acids and must obtain them from the diet. The protein content in eggs also contributes to satiety.
In addition, eggs can help control the hunger hormone ghrelin and prolong the feeling of fullness. This makes them an excellent breakfast choice, as they help reduce snacking, which leads to lower calorie intake and can potentially promote weight loss.
Starting the day with eggs can be a great way to reduce total daily calorie intake. Studies show that overweight people who include eggs in their breakfast while following a calorie-controlled diet tend to lose more fat and have a slimmer waist compared to those who choose a high-carbohydrate breakfast.
