Polish protesters ease traffic restrictions on Ukraine border
Polish protesters eased restrictions on the movement of cars and buses near the border with Ukraine, according to the State Border Service of Ukraine.
According to the State Police Service, after 17:00 the traffic of passenger cars and buses through the checkpoint Hrebenne - Rawa Ruska resumed.
The protesters also expressed their willingness to let one truck pass every hour in both directions.
In addition, Polish strikers are ready to allow a small amount of traffic through the Zosin-Ustiług checkpoint.
They plan to allow five cars every 30 minutes in both directions, one truck every hour to enter Poland, and three trucks to enter Ukraine. Buses in both directions will pass as usual.
Also, after 18:00, protesters blocked the movement of cars and buses through the Dołhobyczów-Ugryniv checkpoint.
At the same time, the protesters intend to continue restricting the movement of trucks and allowing only four trucks to enter Ukraine and one truck to leave Ukraine every hour.
Border blockade
Earlier Polish farmers announced that they would block all border checkpoints with Ukraine from February 20. It is also about entrances to railway stations and seaports.
On February 9, Polish farmers blocked three checkpoints on the border with Ukraine, the movement of trucks and trains was hampered. Later it became known that they unblocked one of the checkpoints on the border with Ukraine - the Sheghini-Medyka checkpoint.
Already on February 12, Polish farmers blocked two more checkpoints on the border with Ukraine. They also continued the protest at the Medyka - Shehyni checkpoint.
In addition, Polish protestors have started stricter traffic restrictions on the border with Ukraine.
