The Polish Air Force scrambled fighter jets to intercept and escort a Russian reconnaissance aircraft flying near Polish airspace, PAP reports.
According to the Armed Forces Operational Command, objects from Belarusian territory were detected entering Polish airspace during the night.
Poland also recorded another incursion into its airspace by balloons from Belarus.
"After a detailed analysis, it was established that these were most likely contraband balloons moving in accordance with the direction and speed of the wind," the Command says.
For safety reasons, civil aviation flights over the Podlaskie Voivodeship were temporarily restricted.
