Polish farmers partially unblock one of checkpoints on border with Ukraine
At the Hrebenne - Rawa Ruska checkpoint, located on the border between Ukraine and Poland, partial truck traffic began today, April 5, according to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS).
"Farmers who restrict traffic during the protest will be allowed the entry of 15 empty trucks per day into Poland," border guards note.
The SBGS requests carriers to take this information into account and follow updates from Ukrtransbezpeka regarding the order of entry at the checkpoint.
What preceded
In February, Polish farmers started protests across the country. They oppose the import of Ukrainian food, as it allegedly affects prices on the domestic market.
Back in early March, farmers announced that the protests would continue until April 30.
Yesterday, April 4, Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service, stated that Polish farmers were blocking three border crossings with Ukraine, allowing hardly any trucks to enter Poland.
