Polish Defense Minister accuses opposition of hostility toward Ukraine

The Polish opposition has begun to view Ukraine, rather than Russia, as the enemy. However, official Warsaw will not withdraw its support for Kyiv, according to Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
On July 31, the Polish Sejm discussed the incident involving a Russian Kh-101 missile, which had strayed into Polish territory the day before.
Against this backdrop, Kosiniak-Kamysz reminded everyone present who the real enemy of Poland and NATO is.
In addition, the Defense Minister publicly criticized the Polish opposition, which, according to him, was increasingly trying to blame Ukraine for all problems.
"You don’t consider Russia an enemy at all… Recently, Ukraine has become enemy number one," Kosiniak-Kamysz said indignantly from the Sejm podium.
Moreover, he recalled Warsaw’s transfer of missiles for the Patriot systems to Ukraine. The Minister reiterated that Poland did so at the request of the US, yet the opposition expressed its dissatisfaction even in this case.
"They (the Ukrainians—ed.) can shoot down missiles flying toward Poland while they’re still over Ukrainian territory. I want them to shoot them down over Ukrainian territory," Kosiniak-Kamysz stated.
Most of those present respond to his statement with a burst of applause. Afterward, the Defense Minister assured the audience that the Polish government would not abandon Ukraine to its fate in the war with Russia.
According to him, the opposition’s howling and disinformation will not deter Warsaw on this issue.
Following the Defense Minister’s accusations, opposition lawmakers raised their voices in an attempt to drown out Kosiniak-Kamysz’s speech—a heated verbal exchange erupted in the Sejm.
Donald Tusk recently warned of 100 decisive days for Ukraine in the war with Russia.
