Poland to build bunkers and dig trenches along border with RF and Belarus - MoD
Poland plans to continue strengthening its territory near the border with the Russian Federation and Belarus. This includes, in particular, the construction of bunkers, stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the Minister of Defense of Poland.
The official was asked whether Poland should start building bunkers, digging ditches, and trenches on the border with Belarus and Russia.
In response, he agreed and announced that Poland's leadership is preparing a plan for the construction of bunkers and digging trenches. He also mentioned that Poland is already strengthening its border.
"We are repairing and reinforcing the embankment, there is a military group in Podlasie Voivodeship. Lublin, Masovian, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeships, presence of the army, presence of allied forces," he said, adding that comprehensive work is underway.
Poland is preparing in case of a war with Russia
After the invasion of Ukraine, the Polish leadership became concerned about its own security and announced plans to strengthen the defense of its borders with Russia and Belarus.
Last year, Poland made a decision to reinforce its border with Belarus, but at that time, the reason behind this was the presence of Wagner Group mercenaries.
