Polish authorities said the object resembling a drone found near Warsaw was not linked to recent Russian attacks on Ukraine, reports RMF FM.

On Saturday evening, residents of the village of Zaręby Warchoły in the Masovian Voivodeship, near Warsaw, discovered an object that looked like a drone.

According to RMF FM, Polish services immediately launched an investigation but preliminarily ruled out that the drone had fallen in Poland as a result of recent Russian strikes on Ukraine.

Journalists said the object was shattered into pieces, with debris scattered across a field. The area around the site contained only an abandoned house.

Investigators are still working to determine the origin of the fragments and when they might have appeared there.

Earlier today, the remains of another unidentified aerial object were also found near Warsaw.

Drone attack on Poland

In the early hours of September 10, about 20 Russian drones entered Polish airspace. Air defense forces shot down four, while the rest crashed or were located across 11 towns, including one inside a military base.

According to media reports, some of the drones may have been targeting a NATO base in Poland.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte called the Alliance's response "very successful," emphasizing its readiness to defend every inch of territory, including airspace.

On September 13, NATO launched Operation Eastern Sentry in Poland to bolster the defense of Europe's eastern flank in response to Russian drones violating Polish airspace.
