Europe may soon find itself under significant pressure. The goal of this pressure will be to reach an agreement with Moscow, according to Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski on Twitter (X).

"Europe may soon face strong pressure aimed at reaching an agreement with Moscow. But what kind of agreement could a sensible Europe agree to? Certainly not a simple agreement that would allow Moscow to recover," emphasized Sikorski.

He clarified that Europe is much stronger than Russian leaders think, and Russia is much weaker than many Europeans believe.

The Foreign Minister pointed out that Ukraine deserves peace, but "it must be peace on fair terms, not capitulation."

"We should not impose strict time limits on our support: this will push Russia to continue fighting. Instead, we should do everything possible to improve Kyiv's position in future negotiations," he added.

Earlier, the WSJ reported that Trump wants Europe to send its peacekeepers to Ukraine and take a leading role in ensuring the country's security.

Trump's inauguration

The inauguration of the new US President, Donald Trump, will take place on January 20.

The politician has repeatedly emphasized that he aims to end Russia's war against Ukraine. According to him, this will be a key priority in US foreign policy.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has acknowledged that Trump could be decisive in ending the war, as he has the ability to stop Russia President Vladimir Putin.
