Poland outraged over Ambassador's summons by Ukraine's Foreign Ministry
The summoning of the Polish ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine should not have happened. Warsaw has provided significant assistance to Kyiv, and such mistakes should not occur, according to the Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki.
"The summoning of the Polish ambassador, representing the only country that remained in Kyiv on the day of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine should not have taken place," the statement reads.
According to him, in international politics, in the conditions of an ongoing war and considering the enormous support that Poland has provided to Ukraine, such mistakes should not happen.
"We will always defend the good name of Poland, its security, and the interests of no other country will ever outweigh the interests of the Republic of Poland," Morawiecki added.
What preceded this
Recall that earlier, the Minister of the President's Chancellery of Poland, Marcin Przydacz, stated that Ukraine should start appreciating the role that Warsaw had played for Kyiv.
After this, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs invited the Polish Ambassador Bartosz Cichocki. They informed him that statements regarding the alleged ingratitude of Ukraine were unacceptable and did not correspond to reality.
At the same time, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oleg Nikolenko, pointed out that no statements would hinder Poland and Ukraine from building a common European future.
Later, it became known that the Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland, Vasyl Zvarych, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The reason was the statements made by Ukrainian officials.
