Poland is working on a program for large-scale military training for all men of conscription age in case of war. The country aims to have an army of half a million, including reservists, said Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a speech in the Sejm, RMF24 reports.

"We are working on a broad military training program for every adult man in Poland. By the end of the year, we want to have a model in place so that every adult man in Poland undergoes training in case of war," Tusk said.

He noted that today Poland needs a half-million-strong army, including reservists.

"It’s important that we put more pressure on our partners when it comes to defense," the Polish Prime Minister added, referring to EU countries.

Earlier, we reported that the Polish government is considering withdrawing from the Ottawa Convention, which bans the production, stockpiling, and use of anti-personnel mines, as well as the Dublin Convention on cluster munitions.
