Ukrainian defenders are holding the line in the Pokrovsk direction and are inflicting heavy losses on the Russian forces, according to Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on Facebook.
The general said that during his visit to the Pokrovsk direction, he held a briefing with the command staff of military administration bodies, military units, and subdivisions regarding the situation and the actions of Ukrainian troops.
According to him, enemy activity remains high in the Pokrovsk area. However, clear coordination and cohesion among Ukrainian defenders help counter this situation.
During the meeting, participants clarified the results of defensive, reconnaissance-strike, and assault actions aimed at stabilizing the situation, as well as the procedures for carrying them out further.
The main focus was on ensuring supplies for the Ukrainian grouping. Syrskyi issued instructions on the priority delivery of additional weapons systems.
Military command also continues working on maintaining stable logistics and implementing measures to disrupt the enemy’s logistics.
"The enemy is being detected and destroyed both during attempts to move and in identified areas of concentration. In just the past four days in the Pokrovsk direction, total enemy losses amounted to 487 personnel, including 350 irrecoverable. The exchange fund is being replenished with captured Russian soldiers," Syrskyi added.
Situation in Pokrovsk
Earlier, the 7th Air Assault Corps reported that Russian troops are attempting to bypass Pokrovsk and capture the settlement of Hryshyne, located northwest of the city.
The Russian forces have been unable to seize Pokrovsk itself; they cannot break through the city’s defenses.
