During his visit to Australia, Carney says that Canada cannot rule out its potential involvement in the current conflict with Iran.

"One can never categorically rule out participation. We will stand by our allies," he replies when asked whether Canada would join the US and Israeli military operation against Iran.

According to CNN, Carney had previously stated that Ottawa would not participate in the confrontation with Iran.

At the same time, the Canadian Prime Minister stressed that his country is not participating in the offensive actions being carried out by the US and Israel, which were conducted without consultation with Canada and other allies.

"We will always defend Canadians," he assures.

Operation Epic Fury and its participants

Many countries have joined the US and Israeli operation in Iran called Epic Fury, which began on February 28. Due to Tehran's attacks on US military bases and others in some countries, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, Jordan, and Oman became involved in the conflict.

The terrorist group Hezbollah, based in Lebanon, and the Houthis in Iraq are fighting on Iran's side.

Among the countries that officially support the operation are Britain, France, and Germany. Italy and Spain have already sent reinforcements to Cyprus, where an Iranian drone flew and hit a British military base.
