Plane with 62 aboard crashes in Brazil
A passenger plane crashed in Brazil on the outskirts of São Paulo today, August 9. There were 62 people on board, stated Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, according to CNN.
“I would like everyone to stand up so that we can observe a minute of silence because a plane has just crashed in the city of Vinhedo, in São Paulo, with 58 passengers and 4 crew members and it appears they all died,” he said in a video message.
The video posted on social media shows the plane falling to the ground, and people who were nearby screaming in fear.
There were also rumors that the plane could have hit several houses during the crash.
According to the Flightradar24 website, the Voepass plane left Cascavel and was heading to São Paulo.
“There is still no confirmation of how the accident occurred or the current situation of the people on board,” Voepass said in a statement.
On July 12, it became known that a military plane crashed in Poland at the Gdynia-Kosakowo airport. The pilot died at the scene.
