In the night of April 6, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv. One person was killed, three others were injured, and significant damage was caused.

The State Emergency Service (SES), the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Ukraine, and the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA), Tymur Tkachenko shared photos of the aftermath.

"Kyiv. As a result of the enemy's attack on the capital, one person was killed, and three others were injured," law enforcement reported.

Rescuers have extinguished fires in the Obolonskyi and Darnytskyi districts. Efforts to clear rubble and hazardous structures are ongoing.

To clarify, three people were injured in the Darnytskyi district. The man who was killed was in the same area, near the epicenter of the explosion.

Consequences of the Russian attack on Kyiv

As reported by Tymur Tkachenko, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMO), the Russian ballistic missile strike caused damage in the Darnytskyi, Obolonskyi, and Solomianskyi districts of Kyiv.

Darnytskyi district:

  • Fire in a non-residential building.

  • Debris and destruction of a building, with fire in another location within the district. Damaged and destroyed cars were also reported. Firefighters have extinguished the flames.

Obolonskyi district:

  • A large fire at a furniture workshop (1500 square meters). Firefighters are on-site.

  • Part of the business center's 3rd to 5th floors were partially destroyed.

Solomianskyi district:

  • A fire broke out in an open area due to falling debris in multiple spots.

  • The facade of a warehouse building caught fire. The fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters.

Russian attack on Kyiv

In the early hours of Sunday, April 6, Russian forces launched ballistic missiles on top of their drone attack against Ukraine.

Air raid alerts were declared across most regions of the country, and loud explosions rocked Kyiv.
